Purchase Officer
For a growing, small-scale pharmaceutical wholesaler, we are looking for a Procurement Manager to strengthen their dynamic team.
Job Description:
Reporting directly to the Procurement Director, you will be responsible for overseeing purchasing operations, managing the purchasing team, and optimizing procurement processes to ensure top-quality service to our clients while maintaining cost control.
Main Responsibilities:
• Lead, motivate, and support the purchasing team (1 person) to achieve set objectives.
• Analyze the market, monitor trends, and adjust the purchasing strategy in line with company needs and developments in the pharmaceutical sector.
• Negotiate purchase conditions, identify and establish new supplier partnerships, and maintain trust-based, performance-driven relationships.
• Ensure optimal assortment management: anticipate needs, prevent stockouts, optimize supply planning, and implement effective preventive solutions.
• Process and follow up on purchase orders, ensuring strict cost control (purchasing and logistics).
• Collaborate closely with other departments (accounting, marketing, logistics) to ensure consistency and efficiency in processes.
• Monitor KPIs, analyze results, and report regularly to senior management.
• Maintain, optimize, and continuously improve the ERP system (pricing, lead times, minimum stock levels, etc.).
Your Profile:
• Proven experience in purchasing/procurement, ideally within the pharmaceutical sector or a similar industry.
• Higher education degree in business, economics, procurement, or supply chain.
• Fluent in French and Dutch; English is a plus.
• Proficient with office tools, especially Excel and ERP systems, to analyze and optimize purchasing data.
• Rigorous, proactive, performance-driven, and solution-oriented.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop strategic recommendations.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a keen sense of commercial opportunity.
• Team player with strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
