Medical Hybrid Representative Waasland

 For an international OTC company, we are looking for a hybrid medical representative for the region of Waasland (Lier– Lokeren– Antwerpen L.O.).


JOB DESCRIPTION

You are responsible for the promotion of OTC medicines to carefully selected physicians and pharmacies. You engage healthcare professionals (HCPs) in a scientific and credible way, with a strong focus on medical education and building long-term professional relationships.

Your role contributes to increasing both selling-in and selling-out performance, while achieving qualitative and quantitative targets aligned with the company’s overall objectives.

You achieve this through:

  • Implementing company and annual plans at regional level.
  • Ensuring CRM and administrative systems are accurately maintained and up to date, guaranteeing reliable regional reporting at all times.
  • Acting as a company ambassador towards HCPs.
  • Providing the organization with valuable field insights.
  • Proactively managing your personal development through an individual development plan.

 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Business understanding

You continuously build knowledge of the internal and external environment to successfully execute the annual plan:

  • Products, strategies, skills, and organizational priorities.
  • Needs, preferences, and treatment attitudes of HCPs.
  • Competitors and their positioning.
  • Activities of colleagues within the field.

You will:

  • Continuously update your medical and product knowledge through training, literature, and internal communication.
  • Continuously improve your sales, communication, and technical skills.
  • Build and maintain a strong professional network within your territory.

 

2. Strategy development (in collaboration with the District Manager)

You analyze available data to identify growth opportunities and optimize territory performance:

  • Analysis of market and customer data.
  • Segmentation and classification of customers.
  • Definition of target groups and prioritization of HCPs.
  • Setting specific objectives per segment.
  • Evaluation of results and ROI of activities.

 

3. Strategy implementation

You translate the annual plan into concrete actions:

  • Execution of visit plans according to defined targeting, coverage, and frequency.
  • Building strong relationships with key customers to drive recommendations and prescriptions.
  • Managing multiple tasks and projects within deadlines and objectives.
  • Providing accurate and complete CRM reporting.
  • Sharing relevant field information and feedback with internal stakeholders.
  • Active participation in sales and cycle meetings.
  • Timely follow-up on internal and external requests.
  • Immediate reporting of adverse events or product-related issues.

 

4. Territory management

You manage your territory as a “mini-business”:

  • Focus on selected physicians and pharmacies.
  • Organize and participate in relevant events aligned with company strategy.
  • Take ownership of your territory with a strong entrepreneurial mindset (“I am the manager of my region”).

 

PROFILE

  • Education & experience: Higher education, preferably in a scientific or paramedical field.
  • Ideally some years of experience as a medical representative within the GP market and OTC business.
  • Good knowledge of basic computer tools (Excel, Word).
  • Fluent in the local language and good written English skills for understanding scientific literature.
